CCC in Action!

During the '09-'10 school year, CCC is facilitating college and career workshops weekly with 60 8th graders from The SEED School, bi-weekly with 150 9th graders from Cesar Chavez Public Charter School, Parkside Campus, and monthly with 150 6th and 7th grade students from Friendship Tech Prep. We will work with additional students during the spring semester, including 80 students from KIPP: KEY Academy's 7th grade class. Interactive, local college and career field trips reinforce concepts introduced in our workshops and help to make them tangible.

Since 2007, CCC has...

  • Facilitated college field trips for 750 middle and early high school students to local universities.
  • Engaged 430 students and 38 professionals and in "Power Lunch" career discussions and taken almost 200 students on career field trips.
  • Engaged over 1,000 students in workshops, including "College 101", "Career Exploration", "100% Smart", and other self exploration and life skills topics.
  • Awarded 19 scholarships of $1,500 each, for a total of $28,500, to graduating seniors.
